Deed dated 1846 Signed by WILLIAM B. OGDEN, the first Mayor of the City of Chicago. Deed for appox. 20 acres in Cook County, IL. The document is folded but opens to appox. 10"x16." The signature is clear and bold - a wonderful and early example.  There is expected wear for a 178-year-old manuscript, and the outside of the folded portion is soiled, but the interior portion of the document is quite clear and legible. See photos for condition. This is a superb addition to any collection of signatures or Chicago historical items.
