    Justice Tom Clark
    (1899-1977)
    American lawyer who served as 59th U.S. Attorney General 1945-1949 and later Associate Justice of
    the Supreme Court 1949-1967. Appointed by Harry Truman. Clark was succeeded by the 1st African
    American Justice Thurgood Marshall in 1967.
    This commemorative cover is cancelled on the event of "Bring us Together" conference March 11, 1971 where
    Tom Clark served as Chairman of the Conference and President Nixon spoke.
