SCHWINN STING-RAY KRATE HURET VINTAGE BICYCLE BIKE SPEEDOMETER SPEEDO HEAD

This is a very shiny (though
not perfect
) used example of an early-1970s Schwinn Sting-Ray speedometer by Huret, completely rebuilt and in full working order.
It has been polished, waxed and reassembled, and is in full working order with an excellent finish. (The camera tripod is visible in Photo 5.)
This is a very good example of the mirror-like chrome finish that Huret put on their earlier speedometers, into the early 1970s, although this example does show some
small nicks and fleabites in the chrome finish of the rear case
that are visible up close (
see photos 3, 4 & 5
), apparently caused by some earlier owner (
not
me) trying to pry it open.
This is a great finishing touch for your Sting-Ray, Manta-Ray or Krate.
The speedometer head is 2 3/8" wide, 2¼" high and 1 5/8" deep. It has a polished chrome rim, glass face, and chrome housing, with white numbers on a black dial, and a bright orange pointer. A
ll chrome was polished to restore the shine, and waxed to keep it that way. The original carriage bolt and nut were missing, so I have installed new replacements.
There is no accumulated mileage; it's just passing

Drive cable and drive hub are not included.
This will work with all sizes of bike. To complete the installation, you will also need a drive cable, and a Schwinn or Huret drive hub stamped with the correct wheel size for your bike. See my other auctions for some examples.
