Handwritten letter signed in the third person by Prince Alfred, then Duke of Edinburgh, later succeeding to Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha (1844-1900). Measures 4.5" x 7". Scarring to blank side with some paper loss to corners where letter was removed from autograph album.
From the collection of Captain Peter Johnston-Saint, who worked for many years as an agent collecting on behalf of Sir Henry Wellcome. This collection was purchased at the Sotheby's December 10th, 2019 sale.
