    ORVILLE L. FREEMAN
    (1918-2003) He was the 29th Governor of Minnesota
    from 1955-61, and as the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture from
    1961-69 under Presidents John F. Kennedy and
    Lyndon B. Johnson. He nominated Kennedy for President at
    the national Democratic Party convention. Typed letter
    signed, October 24, 1969, regarding the Boy Scouts,
    accompanied by a second typed letter signed, April 28, 1971,
    granting permission to publish the first letter.
