My time is constantly occupied - and I am now about starting on my tour of duty & shall be on the wing till the time of the election. Silas M. Stilwell resides in the City of New York & would very cheerfully give you any aid in his power - I do not know the address of the other gentlemen. Excuse my haste, as I am about to leave for a long campaign.
NEW YORK IS SAFE, BY A LARGE MAJORITY FOR HARRISON
."

. TALLMADGE WAS RIGHT ABOUT NEW YORK. In the November 3, 1840, election, Harrison won New York's 42 electoral votes

Tallmadge served in the U.S. Senate
as a Democrat from 1833 to 1844 when he resigned,
having been appointed
Governor of Wisconsin Territory
by President Tyler, a Democrat elected as a Whig with Harrison in 1840. He was removed from office
by President Polk, a Democrat, in 1845.
Tallmadge returned to Poughkeepsie, converted to spiritualism and devoted himself to writing religious tracts. Mounting stains on verso. Usual folds, one vertical through "Ta" of signature, lightly creased, light show through of seal, overall fine appearance.
