Typed letter signed, one page, 8 x 11,5 inch, `House of Commons` letterhead, London, 18.06.1971, reply letter to Miss Watson and Miss Brett (two of her supporters) - concerning a complaint about a doctor, signed in blue ink "Margaret Thatcher", attractively mounted (removable) for fine display with a photograph, shows Thatcher during a speech (altogether 16,5 x 11,75 inch), with two horizontal letter folds - in nearly very fine condition. Accompanied by the original envelope."Dear Miss Brett and Miss Watson, Thank you for your kind letter. I had a very long interview with Miss Roads and her father lasting nearly three quarter of an hour. It would seem that the casualty doctor she had to call in one evening to her mother was a Pakistani and he did not take medical steps which Miss Roads believes he should have taken after her mother had suffered a stroke. Miss Roads then called another doctor privately who was rather horrified at what had happened. In the end Mrs Roads died and I can well understand that Miss Roads was very distressed; but alas there is little I can do about the action of the doctor, I myself not having seen the case and therefore not being in a position to say that he was wrong. I have advised Miss Roads to write to the National Health Executive Council about the matter. I stressed that I was not unsympathetic, but just rather helpless in a case like this.
