Buckle is the 9th in a Series of 12
It measures 3.5" x 2.5" Made of Pewter & Brass
The bottom of the buckle features the John Deere 1912 Leaping Deer over Log Trademark/Logo, a farm with walking plow & oxen pulling it. It also has another farmer on a tractor pulling a plow in the field. A young boy is sitting on the lap of yet another farmer while the Hinton dog is also shown beside them.
Walter Haskell Hinton was a painter and illustrator who first worked for John Deere in 1926 and started freelancing for Deere creating many farm & family scenes. His works included updates to John Deere's Trademark/Logo and his illustrations appeared on puzzles, belt buckles, trays, calendars, paintings, Christmas ornaments & more.
The three dimensional detail & workmanship in these buckles make them a very desirable for collectors.
