ICE CAPADES DOLL ~ Vintage ORIGINAL 20 inch !!!!!!

Here is a RARE opportunity to own an ORIGINAL ICE CAPADES DOLL!
DOCUMENTED: 1972 Ice Capades Program, "Sentimental Journey"
These dolls were produced by the costume and design department of the Ice Capades Company and were used to test out the costumes for lighting.  They were then sent out as part of the publicity campaign and were displayed in touring cities.
Early dolls used the flat chested Binnie dolls and eventually moved on to the 20 inch Cissy Doll.  When Vintage Cissy was discontinued other 20 inch dolls were used.  This model is by Kaysam.  She is 20 inches tall, a bit more slender than Cissy, but the greatest variation is the size of her head.  In comparison to Vintage Cissy, her head is much smaller and more in line with human perspectives.
WOW--- the workmanship on this costume is phenomenal!  The turban and head-dress are a structural feat of engineering.
Her leotard is a vibrant hue... so appropriate for the period. Interestingly, the pieces are held on with tiny pieces of velcro! Her satin belt and collar are manufactured with grommets. She has her original fishnet stockings.  Her skates mimic those of the actual skaters perfectly.  The elastic has stretched, but is still in its original design. She is holding her wand which is attached to her ivory ruffled "tail."
She is missing one earring which has come lose from her turban.
She came to me wearing the large pearl necklace, but I don't think it is original.  Everything else is in perfect perspective to the human costume counterpart, and these pearls are much too large.  HOWEVER, in my research, I did come across a photo in an early Pat Smith  Madame Alexander book with a black and white photo of a doll wearing the same large pearls.  I think the doll photographed and this doll are one and the same.
The doll is 20 inches tall, with her head dress she is 28 inches tall.
