A lot of four (4) historic political autographs dating to the late 1800s (late nineteenth century). Signature cuts include:William Todd Otto – Otto was a personal friend of Abraham Lincoln, serving as an Indiana judge before being appointed Assistant Secretary of the Interior by President Lincoln. Otto was one of those surrounding Lincoln’s bedside when Lincoln passed away after being shot by John Wilkes Booth. Otto went on to serve as a diplomat and later Reporter of Decisions of the US Supreme Court. Signed and dated in his hand “June 23, 1865” (5.5 X 2.5)
John C. Churchill – Inscribed from Oswego, NY where Churchill began his law practice and political career as a member of the Brd of Education, a judgeship, and member of the US Congress. Churchill ended his career as a Justice of the New York Supreme Court. (7.5 X 3.75)
William W. Snow - Inscribed from Oneonta, NY, Snow was a businessman and politician who served in the US House of Representatives from NY (1851-1853). (7.25 X 2.5)
