Sir Edgar Harris Walton (1856-1942), South African politician. He was High Commissioner for South Africa in London.

a) 5" x 4" 1/4 Card with printed photo of Sir Edgar Harris Walton taken at the British Empire Exhibition. Card is hand written, dedicated and signed by Sir Walton, on May, 1924. Condition: Very Good (Light foxing)
b) Front cover of envelope used to send the card. Postmarked from London, on August 18, 1924. Condition: Very Good + (Light Foxing)

From the collection of Alejandro Zorrilla de San Martin (birth: Montevideo, Uruguay, September 21, 1880 - death: Montevideo, Uruguay: December 12, 1941), who spent over 20 years collecting autographs mainly from prominent political figures worldwide. He used to send blank cards with a newspaper or magazine clipped photo of the person, attaching a letter asking for an autograph and including a self-addressed envelope.
