CAMP PASSUMPSIC, FOR BOYS, ON LAKE FAIRLEE
ELY, VERMONT
Vintage letter from boy camper, "Dear Mother and Daddy..."
Camp existed from about 1914-1980.
At the end is date July 27 but it doesn't have a year. Paper measures 6 1/8" by 7". Pencil handwriting on both sides. I can't read the young boy's signed name at the end. Here are the words I can read:
"We had a boat race and I was in the race but we lost the reds won. I went on a day hike up to the top of mt bub and on the way back we saw a fox. I played a boy on tennis but we didn't finish. I was winning five three and the count was 30+40 my favor. I took riflery and shop for this week. We had a magic show and the magician did neat tricks. A counselor caught a fish that was (?) inches. It was a bass. Over. How is David and Holly. Tell France I miss her good food. God bless you. Lots of love. July 27. (?)"
Paper has age and use, rub and scuff, crease/fold, light soiling and pencil writing. It is pre-owned being sold "as is" as was found. Please view photos. You will receive the letter shown.
