    Description

This listing includes a c1914 William O. Robinson (1860-1928), former circus Giant, runs for Marion County Iowa Recorder, RARE political card. No date but on the back he talks about Taft & Roosevelt & others active in and around the 1912 presidential election. Could be as late as early 1920s. In very good shape for its age. Approximately 3.5 x 5.5 inches.
NOTE: When he died in 1928 local newspapers said Robinson was the tallest man in Iowa at 7.5 feet tall.  He and his two brothers, also giants, traveled for a number of years with several circuses including Barnum and Bailey. Sometime after 1892 Robinson returned to Iowa and was engaged as an auctioneer and real estate agent. He was an usher for evangelist Billy Sunday when the evangelist came to Iowa.  The fact that he ran for office on the Republican ticket was not widely known since he apparently did not win. That is what makes this card so RARE and a very unique political item for the hard core collector. I hate to sell it.
