    Description

    Benjamin Disraeli signed letter circa 1859, written at the House of Commons. 3 pages, signed "D". Accompanied by a handwritten slip using paper and ink from a similar period: “Letter written by the Right Honorable B. Disraeli then Chancelor of the Exchequer + Leader of the House of Commons. It was written on the Treasury Bench and was intended for the Whip Sir William Tolliffe M.P. but in his absence was handed to Lord Henry Lennox M.P. who was acting as Under Whip. 1859”
    Disraeli writes, “requesting their immediate presence in the House…with Mr. Butt, and an M.P. (ask
    Lennox).”
    Three pages, on two separate sheets. Fair condition, with heavy creasing.
