    Description

    This lot includes three political campaign cards from the 1909, 1921, and 1929 Republican primary campaigns of H. Clay Baldwin of Annville, the County Attorney of Jackson County, Kentucky. The advertisements are printed on card stock. These cards are perfect for anyone interested in the history of politics in the United States or in Jackson County, Kentucky.
    The back of Baldwin's 1909 campaign message reads:
    "Hello Boys!
    I am a a candidate for the County Attorney of Jackson County, subject to the action of the Republican Party at the Primary election April 10th, 1909.
    As to my morality and qualifications, I ask you to make inquiry. I have always voted for the principles of the Republican party, and for the best men regardless of popularity.
    I do not belong to any "Rings" or "Cliques" for such combinations are detrimental to the best interests of our county.
    I hall not aid or abet the County Judge or any one else to disregard the LAW in order to get a higher salary than was already fixed according to LAW, as has been done.
    I will oppose all unfair and unjust claims, and if elected, I shall perform my duty faithfully and to the best of my ability. If I do not get to speak to you personally, any aid or support rendered in my behalf will be appreciated.
