Vintage Derby Silver Plate Nouveau Jewelry Collar/Cuff Dresser Box - Stamped/Numbered  1904
Approx. Size: 6" W x 6" L x 3"D.
In ' as found' condition:
1.
Closes well - hinge good. No dents. Heavy.
2. Inside velvet is soiled, as photographed. It looks like it was used as a sewing box.

I am only guessing but it looks like it was stripped for re-silvering judging from the silver plate left on the bottom.
(I did have a piece re-silvered years ago at a North Jersey antique show booth, so I know it is done....that may be part of its story.)
