    There are other Milady shoe horn/button hooks just like this one that have the patent date of 1917 engraved on the hook portion.  These examples also usually are advertising a business which would be engraved on the lower portion of the item.  This one says "PATENT PENDING" which implies that it is older than these others and there is no advertisement other than Milady.
    CONDITION:
    In VERY GOOD condition.  Has some corrosion on the front above the word "Milady's".
