    "Aug 5th 1911
    Lowther,
    Penrith.
    Sir
I have today received from London a Bust of your majesty which is quite charming & an excellent likeness, I hasten therefore to write & thank you for the very! very! kind thought that prompted your majesty to send it. I am delighted to have such a charming memento of such great history moment, & it will remain here at Lowther as an heirloom after I have gone & as a token of your Majesties kindness while I am spared to be here.
I feel that it is quite impossible for me to in anyway express my real feelings of gratitude in Black & White, but I can assure you Sir that they are very great & sincere.
I hope that the arrival of the Bust may be only a forerunner of the original & that your majesty will honour my humble home at some not far distant day, most suitable to your majesty & that you will come & shoot here - should it be possible before leaving for India.
I need hardly say that any date your majesty selected would be one of the most charming commands to Lady Lonsdale & myself.
Again thanking your majesty for your most charming gift.
I have the honour to be,
    Sir,
Your majesty, most humble & respectful Servant.
    LONSDALE"

This was probably one of those from Buckingham Palace inscribed and signed: In remembrance of Westminster Abbey June 22nd 1911 from George R J bronze, on a red and green marble column with gilt bronze mounts and a bronze base
