    1787; PA Vice President Charles Biddle orders survey - not last Indian purchase FRAMEABLE Part-printed order to survey 60 acres of land for John Blaser “(Provided the land is not within the last purchase made of the Indians)”. Document dated 1787 and signed by Edward Lynch by order of the Vice-President of the Supreme Executive Council of Pennsylvania, Charles Biddle. Size 13 in. by 8 in. on laid, rag-content paper; age toned-heavier at folds, stains, separation at ends of folds and along all of one fold - repaired /old tape, tiny holes along folds, edge nicks, old tape repairs on reverse, overall fair to good condition. "Biddle served as Vice-President of Pennsylvania from October 10, 1785 until October 31, 1787. During his term, he was an ex officio trustee of the University of the State of Pennsylvania (now the University of Pennsylvania). He was a member of the Pennsylvania Senate from 1810 to 1814.[2] He also was an associate of Aaron Burr. Although Biddle vacated his seat at Council on October 13, 1787 the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania records that his Vice-Presidential term extended to October 31, the date of the next Presidential and Vice-Presidential elections.
